missed class on friday

hey everyone and professor duncan, I deeply regret missing our usual wednesday afternoon conversation. I was having a painful time elsewhere in this all-american city of Tuscaloosa.

anyway, what did i miss? besides the discussion of Neil Gaimans classic "the graveyard book"

I noticed someone speak of paper topics? are those due soon?

also, what should i be reading interim the week?

is there a place where i can download the syllabus/reading guide?

is this one too many questions?

  1. We are presenting our paper topics this week, so we don't have any reading to do. We talked about several ideas for the paper like the danse macabre, comparing the Jungle Book and the Graveyard book, Link's newer and older stories in comparison, analyzing illustrations, etc. As for the reading guide, I wish I knew about that one, too. Can anyone help? I know The Shadow Year is next though..

  2. The syllabus is the first post on the blog. It has a weekly schedule - what to read and when stuff is due. Hope this helps.

  4. Oh, no. I was actually thinking of writing about the dance macabre myself, but it will probably have an artistic slant. Anyway, glad to help!

  5. In what context, Zach, are you thinking of writing about the Day of the Dead?
