I'm not sure if I'm right on this but is the monster in the room with the fruit supposed to be Kronos from Greek mythology? I don't really know much about him but I remember talking about him in art history and that he ate his own children. The paintings that were on the wall in the room were of the monster eating what looked like children. I'm not sure if I am right on that though.

hmm, i dont think so...Kronos was a really really powerful proto-god, technically a Titan.
ReplyDeleteHe was the only one that was willing to stand up to his powerful earth-founding father Ouranos, at his mother's (Gaia) request he cut his dad's wang and balls off and threw them into the sea.
Aphrodite later emerged from the sea splash (foam) where the penis landed. what a noble birth.
anyway, everony knows if you don't have a wang, you can't rule so Oaranos abdicated to Kronos.
a Golden Age prevailed during the reign of Kronos. the people of the time had no need for laws or rules; everyone did the right thing, and immorality was absent
Cronus learned from Gaia(mom) and Ouranos(dad) that he was destined to be overcome by his own son, just as he had overthrown his father. As a result, although he sired the gods Demeter, Hera, Hades, Hestia, and Poseidon by Rhea, he swallowed them all as soon as they were born
When the sixth child, Zeus, was born Rhea(wife) sought Gaia(mother in law) to devise a plan to save them and to eventually get retribution on Cronus for his acts against his father and children. Rhea secretly gave birth to Zeus in Crete, and handed Cronus a stone wrapped in swaddling clothes, also known as the Omphalos Stone, which he promptly swallowed, thinking that it was his son.
Once he had grown up, Zeus used a poison given to him by Gaia to force Cronus (Kronos or Kronus) to disgorge the contents of his stomach in reverse order
Zeus and his brothers and sisters, with the help of the Gigantes, Hecatonchires, and Cyclopes, overthrew Cronus and the other Titans, ascended Olympus and have been partying ever since.
The pictures on the wall reminded me of some pictures from art history. I don't really know that much about mythology. I was just relating that fact that he ate children with Kronos.
