New Movie
Has anyone seen the preview for the movie "Coraline"? From what I read on the site, it is based off of a book written by Neil Gaiman. The girl Coraline finds a secret passage in her house to an alternate version of her life. It is also a stop-motion film. It looks like it would be very good. Just wanted to know if anyone else has heard of it. Here is the website: http://www.coraline.com/

I have seen a lot of the previews for it. It looks a little weird, but I might have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI too have seen many a preview for this film. It debuts February second, no? FIELD TRIP!
ReplyDeleteI have seen previews as well. Tim Burton directs a movie based on a book by Neil Gaiman? Sounds like my kind of film. I wish to see!
ReplyDeleteI've seen the commercials as well. There is also another fantasy film coming out this month, though not at all related to any authors we will be reading..."Inkheart" with Brendan Fraser.
ReplyDeleteOh, I cannot wait to see Inkheart. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteSo apparently, I am a jabroni because Henry Selick directs this, not Burton. Slip of the tongue. My b.
ReplyDeleteI think I know this Coraline movie you speak of. I think it looks very interesting. There's this scene in the preview where she climbs into a hole of some sort and ends up entering this alternate reality where people's eyes are made of buttons? Right? That vibe kind of reminds me of Pan's Labyrinth, just that scene though. If you guys are up for it, why don't we schedule a movie screening time and go check it out.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a good idea. I would be up for a Sunday, if everyone else is ok with that. Also for the HP fans, I heard that the trailer for HBP will be with Inkheart, so not only does the movie look cool, but there will be a HP trailer in front of it. All the more reason to go see it. lol.
ReplyDeleteWhich Sunday? I'm not sure I can this Sunday. This Sunday, January 25, 2009, will be dedicated to a Chinese New Year Party that's going on at the Ferg organized by the Chinese Student Association.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really fun. I didn't know about the HP trailer. Could we possibly plan for a Friday or Saturday instead? Sundays I attend church services most of the day.
ReplyDeleteA Friday evening would be good for me then. I just have a really weird work schedule and Sunday is my only complete off day, but a Friday night would be good.
ReplyDeleteFriday or Sunday night works for me as well! I'm an RA and am on-call this Saturday night, so that night's out for me...my only Saturday of the semester, and it's this week. Figures, haha.
ReplyDeleteAnd I believe that the HBP trailer that is in front of Inkheart is the same one that was in front of Twilight, but we won't really know til we see it...there's been heresay from both sides. I'm still all for checking it out.
ReplyDeleteI have seen it. I agree with Kayla it looks a little strange, but my nieces and nephews might want to see it. So I probably will.
ReplyDeleteOk, I tried to comment on this last week, but for some reason I am technically challenged. I LOVE Tim Burton, and this reminds so much of something he would do. I've seen several commercials for this movie, and I'm definietely up for seeing it!
