I like it?
I've only read a handful of the stories in 20th Century Ghosts so far, but I'm already enjoying them so much more than I thought I would. I fell into the category of people who were kind of scared to read them, since I get scared super easily, but these stories have been extremely entertaining so far. Has anyone else been pleasantly surprised by this book?

I have really enjoyed the first half of the book. These aren't what I consider horror but I also have not read the second half. A few have had the elements of horror as in "Best New Horror" but none have struck me as terrifying or particularly disturbing. This so far is one of my favorite selections of the ones that we have read.
ReplyDeleteI just finished the book today, and considering I was afraid to read the book in the first place, I was almost dissappointed. I really thought the stories would be a lot scarier than they were. I did enjoy most of them though. Overall I definitely liked it better than the Kelly Link collections.
ReplyDeleteI've actually thought the book has been pretty tame as well. Stories such as "Pop Art" and "Better Than Home" were even kind of sweet in a dark way. I mean "Best New Horror" and "The Black Phone" were pretty twisted, but I feel like there is a good balance with the stories.
