The elf inspectors of Iceland

This Slate article on the extent to which elves disrupt construction projects in Iceland is especially timely given our upcoming discussion of Lucy Kemnitzer's story "The Boulder."

    "Try to keep elvin-interests in mind".....a word to the wise, or so it seems.

    I have my own personal qualms with "seers", as their abilities always appear too easily tailored to connivence--like the fact that you have to be born with this skill, you can't learn it, etc.

    I'm actually shocked only 3% of people have reported seeing elvin type in this area. I would think this percentage would be a lot higher, for some reason. Or perhaps that is just me wishing it was a lot higher, because, I'll admit it, I think elves are probably the coolest "mythical" creature...it wouldn't be unfortunate if they actually existed...
